Restore Inner West Line are sensationalist liars

I, alongside username @pwaymaster and the Sydney Morning Herald have revealed cabinet-in-confidence plans for the Sydney suburban railway network. These plans will create, in general, a world class suburban network, improving access to rail and boosting public transport's mode share.

The plan sees the T3 cut back to Lidcombe, removing the conflict with the future T9 Richmond line service and allowing greater frequencies on both lines. T3 will run 4 trains per hour all week, currently it only runs 2 in the off peak and on weekends. This service increase halves the average wait time for passengers between Cabramatta and Regents Park.

Proposed service increases and future new infrastructure.
Proposed service increases and future new infrastructure.

As usual however, the everpresent Roydon Ng, who runs the 'advocacy' group Restore Inner West Line, has taken issue to this plan, calling it a 'renewed attack on Southwest Sydney', as it forces T3 passengers to change. T3 is a relatively minor service in Sydney and should not jeopardise the seperation of lines this plan will see.

RIWL also dislikes the enormously beneficial plan to construct both the New Cumberland Line tunnel to Epping and the first stage of the Norwest to Miranda line between Westmead and Kogarah. The former would close a current high demand transport dead zone (and finish the original vision of the Epping-Chatswood Rail Link) and the latter would open up new orbital transport options for people living in southern Sydney, connecting with the existing network at Kingsgrove, Bankstown, Sefton and Granville.

RIWL has repeated its unfounded claims that the New Cumberland Line will comprise a 3-car metro service (it is very likely it will be an 8-car suburban service) and the demolition of the Y-link. No files, public or leaked, have suggested anything to this effect.

Likewise, RIWL has claimed that the N-M line will see the closure of Yagoona and Birrong stations, when in reality it is likely these suburbs will gain a new, frequent metro service directly to Parramatta.

These dangerous claims deliberately lie to uninformed members of the public. Whilst the long term plan is to cut T3 to Lidcombe this is enormously beneficial to the wider network.

If anyone feels like making some noise, EcoTransit (the parent group of RIWL, also run by Roydon Ng) has their AGM over Zoom on Saturday 15th November. Ngl it'd be pretty funny if they got ambushed by facts
